| From: MikeB | January 4, 2009 22:35:48 UTC | | | This is the second set of screws I've ordered from Carmine and I can't be more please with the quick service and reasonable price. Since the Palm can't seem to hold on to their screws, they should at least refer customers to this site. I'm very glad I kept the address for reordering! |

| From: ChrisD | December 25, 2008 16:16:25 UTC | | Palm Tungsten T3 Replacement Scews and Battery |
| | I received my Palm Tungsten T3 battery and screws in only a few days. I was pleasantly surprised to find an enclosed note that stated that recipients have occasionally received their purchase with some of the tiny screws missing, (courtesy of the USPS) and if this were the case, to contact Carmine and he would send replacements immediately. Though this wasn't necessary in my case, I find such remarkable customer service rare these days, and reassuring. All screws fit accordingly, the battery works great, and I couldn't be happier. |

| From: SimonG | October 14, 2008 00:54:04 UTC | | | It's not often that I will take the time to fill out a company survey, but it's not often I find a company that does exactly what they say they will do. I ordered screws for my Treo, and within a few days I had them in hand. Very reasonable price and I like not having to pay so much extra for shipping. My Treo will last a little longer now. Thanks. |

| From: CathyL | September 15, 2008 03:35:11 UTC | | | | The screws arrived so quickly and my daughter was able to actually keep her Palm together. | From: BethM | May 30, 2008 2:41:29 UTC | | | I accidentally discovered on a Friday I was missing three of the four screws in my Palm T3. I contacted Palm online chat on Sunday afternoon. The service rep sent me a link about replacement parts. I ordered them while still in the online chat mode. I received an order shipped notice on the next day and the screws were in my mailbox on Thursday. WOW, I am impressed. And no shipping charges either. I shared my experience with coworkers and have already sent the parts link to someone else who needs replacement screws. Thanks for the great service!!! |

| From: Rick_Dallas | May 28, 2007 01:16:15 UTC | | Great service and a suggestion... |
| | First, I want to say that when the screws fell out of my treo 650, I wanted to get them replaced fast. I emailed Carmine on the Saturday over Memorial day weekend and he responded back in less than 1 hour! He ACTUALLY read my email and answered my questions clearly. We all could only hope tech support could be this good. (Actually, I'm old enough to remember when tech support at companies WAS good but that's another story.........) |
| | My screws arrived on Tuesday after Memorial day. Very quick shipping and and a great price. Nice to see someone not goughing people. |
| | Only suggestion I have is maybe to have the option to purchase a dual ended screwdriver. One for removing the torx screws and the right size phillips for putting them in. I happened to have a jewlers set of tools so it was not hard at all. But for those folks that don't have access to those tools, looks like another opportunity to me. |

| From: smgnevhc | April 1, 2007 19:33:40 UTC | | | When I started having problems with my Treo, I realized half of the screws were missing including the antenna screw. After reading other blogs, I discovered this was very common. Fortunately, I was pointed to Carmine's website to acquire a new site of case screws. They arrived as expected in a couple of days and fit perfectly. They were reasonably priced and included shipping costs. I will send all my friends to this site when its their turn to have a screw loose. I can't wait until Carmine starts supplying the antenna screw as well. I expect I will loose screws again in the future. |

| | I couldn't ask for more... didn't have to find and buy an exotic, tiny torx screwdriver! (read on) |
| | If you are like me, you had a few remaining loose screws in your Treo case. Might as well take them all out. If you don't have that exotic torx driver, put some common double-sided Scotch tape over the head of your tiny phillips driver. The stickiness will allow you to remove the loose torx screws without damaging them or the driver. If they are very tight, this may not work, but I got all mine out easily. |

| From: ddbutton | July 23, 2006 02:10:26 UTC | | | <color=Black>I received the package of screws for my Palm T3 last week. They worked great! <br> |
| | I was reading many other posts on the web that claimed they had found screws that would work. They were #0-80X1/8 size, but I was suspisious because I assumed the Palm would be in millimeter units. I measured one of the screws that I had and it related to an M1.8 size thread, so I "googled" again and found Carmine's site. Glad I didn't bite on the original proposal. |

| From: twotoadhall | July 20, 2006 23:39:39 UTC | | | | I received my replacement screws - which were a perfect fit - the day after I placed the order. Probably one of the most plesant internet experiences I've had! I don't know how this is going to work but I used a tiny amout of Devcon Super Lock liquid on the screws to keep them secure. If this turns out to be a problem I'll submit another post. |

A friend of mine had got the similar problem (though unlike me who lost all four screws) and having given him one from the spare set we\'re now happy as ever. |

The screws fit wonderfully, and I dabbed a bit of Loctite on them to try to ensure I won\'t have the problem again. Thanks for a great service!:D |

| From: Doc | March 1, 2006 21:24:36 UTC | | | I too, thank you for the prompt service on the screws. Some would argue that $6 is too much to pay for what\'s a couple-cent part, but consider this: I didn\'t have to waste time and gas running to the local hardware store, rooting around through the bins, probably not finding what I need, and then driving to another store. Thanks to you for researching the EXACT size and laying your hands on a bunch. More than worth the price! |

| From: rwinia | May 31, 2005 19:17:29 UTC | | Tip to secure your T3 screws |
| | | I fitted the screws I received nearly a year ago, but regular checking and tightening did not prevent me from losing again 2 screws. Since I do not like using glue to secure them I have now cut a small piece of transparent office tape and fitted this over the screw lodging. So even if they become loose I will not lose them. (loose and lose is that correct??). Like you say don\'t look for complications when you can do it simple. |

| From: Anabell | March 6, 2005 19:02:22 UTC | | | I was asked to look for this screws for three people that had lost 3-2-3 screws of their palms. First I called Palm support, was of no use, they wanted us to send them the palms to another city=($$$)&time. I looked for them at different stores selling palms in Mexico City, screw stores, etc. couldn\'t find them. Found Carmine in 3 min. order and got them in 5 days, complete, easy, perfect fit, no problems. Owners of this 3 palms, are very happy, I\'m very satisfied. Thanks a lot for helping me with part of my work. As I went through internet looking for the screws and entering this forum, I\'ve notice it is a problem that affects a lot of people and sadly Palm does nothing to help. | From: bikepast | February 13, 2005 16:18:26 UTC | | | Received my T3 screws - no problems with the order or shipping. |
| | However - that next morning after ordering replacement screws - my unit lost two of those little buggers - my T3 would not turn on. I suspected a dead battery. I had one of those replacement plans - from CompUSA. They sent me a refurbished unit. Great - I didn\'t need to get the screws as the refurbed unit had all its screws. However, yes another however, the refurbished unit had a scratched screen. Great - what luck. First I order screws, the very next day my battery dies, I make a request for a replacement, it arrives with a scratched screen. So after swapping out some parts between the two I have my T3 back up and running. - Discovery - ASUS makes the motherboard for the T3. BTW - very easy to disassemble. |

| From: mcleodjoe | October 19, 2004 15:36:55 UTC | | | I was just reading about simple solutions for seemingly difficult problems and it brought to mind some experiences i haven\'t thought about for many years. |
| | Back in the mid eighties was employed in the \'oil patch\' here in calgary. i was a sort of \'lifter if heavy things\' and \'fixer of broken things\'...things nobody else really wanted to do. |
| | One aspect of my work was fixing pc and host connected devices. i was in the middle of a year long project migrating wang worstations off of the old dual rg59 coax onto twisted pair using baluns. now, i had fought long and hard with wang over this, they said it wouldn\'t work, but my emperical data showed it would. i stuck my neck out and went for it, telling my boss not to worry. needless to say i was anxious and on top of each \'network\' problem as soon as it occured. |
| | I had a particulalry vexing call that went on for a number of weeks. the user called me complaining that intermittantly her documents would have extra spaces inserted into the text. long story short, i spent about ten thousand dollars having condition power installed, replacing motherboards and power supplies and operating systems and keyboards and anti-static devies off all kinds, only to have my phone continuously ring, and subsequently spending hours fidgiting \'on the carpet\' in the bosses office. |
| | Finnaly, thankfully, one day i discovered the simple solution to a difficult problem. i was standing in front of her desk doing some paperwork on the latest attempt i had made to solve this problem (something involving sheep entrails at midnight i think...?) when her phone rang. her phone was at the far left front of her desk. she turned and reached over to pick up the reciever, and i heard that clicking sound that the machine emitted when a key was pressed. i glanced at her keyboard and saw that her right breast was firmly on the spacebar. voila. spaces. i ran away. i called HR. i never went back. |
| | Difficult problem. Expensive problem. Simple solution. |

| From: rwinia | August 10, 2004 15:16:48 UTC | | T3 Gold Plated screws (and case?) |
| | | Report gold plated screws: |
| | Screws look great. See attached pictures. Color is however easily mistaken with yellow copper screws by non expert. This of course would not happen if the screws were installed on a gold plated T3. |
| | Seriously I do think that there are more nuts like me that would pay for a goldplated T3 case. I know that most exterior parts are plastic and I don\'t know if this can be plated. What the retail price would be I dont know. Depends of course also on the remaining commercial life af this little thing. Now that a OS6 machine is around the corner? I kept my Palm IIIxe for 3 years I think. But then there was somebody (in Frisco CA I think) who sold more then 500 solid aluminium cases (NC machined) at around $200 for Palm IIIC not long ago. It is still on the internet. So why not a gold plated T3 case? |

| From: beirne | August 6, 2004 20:38:46 UTC | | Fast service, great product |
| | I just put three of Carmine\'s screws into my Palm T3 and am quite happy. I realized that I was down to one screw while I was travelling and placed my order on the road hoping to have my screws sometime soon after I returned. This turned out to be no problem. I placed my order at 11pm on Wednesday and had my screws when I picked up my vacation mail the following Saturday morning. It is now Sunday. It took a day to go buy a Phillips screwdriver that will fit the screws, but now the base of my T3 is sturdy again. The new screws fit perfectly and the only difference between them and the original is that the new ones are a bit shinier. |
| | BTW, I used a 3.0mm Phillips screwdriver. |
| | I mentioned to a friend that I had bought the screws and they thought that the price was a bit much. Here is why I don\'t mind having spent so much for tiny screws: |
| | * While my T3 is only 4 months old and under the original warranty, I need to ship it to Palm if I want them to repair it. I can get a cross-shipment, but that will cost $39.99. I rely too much on my T3 to be without it for a stupid repair. |
| | * If I have Palm repair the T3 I will probably pay as much or more for shipping than I paid Carmine for the screws. |
| | * I bought 8 screws. This saved me a couple of bucks and I should never have to buy again. |
| | * No one else is selling the real screws, not even Palm. Carmine had to take a chance in buying 5000 screws, so I don\'t mind rewarding him for making my life easier. |
| | * I could afford $350 for the T3, so $7.90 for screws isn\'t that much of a hardship. |

Since the screws are so small you hardly see them I will not use them. May be if you have a goldplated T3 case on your shop and with a diamond logo up front :-))) |

| | | Just received my Palm screws. A perfect fit as advertised and my TungstenT is fixed. That just saved me £250 to buy a new one. Also can\'t fault the first class response and delivery time even though I am in the UK. I wasn\'t expecting them for a week or two but they turned up in 3 days. Fantastic. I wish all my online shopping was as professionally handled. |
